Chin and Neck Liposuction in Los Angeles

If you’re thinking about liposuction of your chin or neck, you’re not alone. Chin lipo is one of the most common liposuction procedures for both men and women. That’s because liposuction can significantly improve the appearance of your chin, your neck, and your profile without giving you a “surgical” look. Plus, reducing the pockets of fat under your chin and neck gives you a slimmer appearance overall.

Chin liposuction using local anesthesia

Practicing in Los Angeles, Dr. Osman’s method for liposuction of the chin and neck uses local anesthesia only. One or more very small incisions are made under the chin and/or behind the ears. The areas to be suctioned are outlined and numbed. Then the fat is suctioned. Liposuction of the chin and neck takes about an hour. After the procedure, you are given a compression garment to wear for 1 – 2 days.

Improvement is usually noticed right away, and the results continue to improve over the next few months. Scars are virtually invisible, and recovery is very fast. Many patients do not have any noticeable signs of surgery as soon as the second day. Others only have slight bruising at the base of their neck that can easily be covered by clothing.

Good candidates

You are a good candidate for liposuction of the chin and neck if you have fat localized in these areas, and you do not have advanced diabetes or other serious medical conditions. You may be a good candidate even if you have “loose skin”. The skin in this area often retracts nicely after liposuction.

Preparation for liposuction of the chin and neck is similar to preparation for liposuction of other areas, and liposuction of the chin and neck can often be combined with other areas of liposuction. Most patients require an initial consultation and a preoperative exam. At that time, the procedure is explained, planned, and preoperative medications are prescribed.
