Coolsculpting is a proven technology approved by the FDA for the non-invasive reduction of fat bulges. Using cold technology, Coolsculpting freezes the fat to eliminate it. When fat cells are chilled to a certain temperature, they begin to die. The dying fat is then removed by your body’s natural metabolic processes.

How Coolsculpting Works
Coolsculpting is performed in our office without anesthesia. The Coolsculpting handpiece is applied to an area of fat. Each bulge is treated for one hour. There is minimal to no discomfort during treatment, and you can occupy your time reading, napping, or on the phone. After treatment, there may be redness, bruising, or numbness lasting up to a week, but there is essentially no recovery. A few days after the procedure, the fat cells in the treated area begin to shrink and resorb.
Coolsculpting works by chilling fat cells to a temperature that triggers their resorbtion. The device works because fat resorbtion is triggered at a temperature that does not damage surrounding tissues, so Zeltiq preferentially targets fat.
Coolsculpting Results
Improvement occurs gradually over the following three months after treatment. Animal and human studies have demonstrated significant reductions in the superficial fat layer thickness following a single treatment. Most patients get about a 20% reduction after one treatement.
Who are the Best Candidates?
Patients who get the best results with Coolsculpting are those with specific, localized areas of unwanted fat. The hips, thighs, flanks, abdomen, chest, back fat, and muffin tops can be targeted. Coolsculpting by Zeltiq is not intended for overall weight loss and is not a substitute for a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Is Coolsculpting Safe?
